The second stop of the tour took place in Tbilisi. Thanks to our local partners – the Friedrich Naumann Foundation and the New Economic School Georgia - top local speakers and international experts were able to discuss the reasons of the current debt crisis and how the European Union and its Neighbors could get out of it. Main issues for our Georgian friends were the free trade agreements with the EU and its problems with Georgia. Thanks to successful free market orientated reforms, Georgia improved tremendously over the last couple of years. Unfortunately, some of the liberalization actions were too “radical” for the EU Commission and that is the reason why there has been no ratification of the free trade papers.

Audience: Students, Journalist, Government officials + opposition
